When Esbren, the Rime-Bound Warden, froze the Pale Reach's memories so the Quiet Sworn could not take them, he froze the kennels too. The whiteout hounds run the Reach still — coursers of blown snow with the cold's own speed, hunting exactly as they were last commanded, for masters the frost keeps perfectly and will not wake. They bring what they catch home. Home does not answer.
