▸ THE STORY
The Fallen
Lands.
A kingdom broken, not killed. A road walked back through thirty-one doors, from the sunlit rim to the salt-dark tomb. You are Fordsworn — and every death you die down here is final.

▸ CHAPTER I · THE WOUND IN THE WORLD
Six crowns under a pale, fixed sun.
Kierstein stood six crowns strong under a sun that never set and never moved — three hundred years of harvests and cathedral-bells. Then the Sundered King, Varokhaz, clawed up through the salt-dark beneath the kingdom, and his Sworn burned four crowns to ash before anyone understood what had come.
He was broken at the Battle of the Ashen Ford — broken, not killed. His generals scattered rather than shattered. The land has never healed. The sky wears a Scar that widens with each blood moon, and the corruption spreads outward from it like rot through a felled oak, region by region, door by door.
Thirty years on, the drowned bells still toll and the ash still remembers. The King's power did not die with his defeat. It went to ground in his generals — and, at the last, it went looking for an heir.

▸ CHAPTER II · THOSE WHO ANSWER THE BEACONS
You are Fordsworn.
The beacons are lit because someone must walk the kingdom back. The Fordsworn are the ones who answer them — not chosen, not blessed, just willing. Each dawn a hero swears the oath at the last safe fire, takes up whatever the fallen left behind, and walks out toward the Scar. Most do not walk back. That is understood before the oath is spoken.
I swear by the ashen ford and the beacons upon it,
to walk the road that broke my elders,
to hold the line one door deeper than they held it,
to fall, if I fall, with my face to the Scar.
The dead do not rise here. Only the sworn go on.
SWORN ANEW EACH DAWN · BROKEN ONLY BY DEATH
▸ THE LAST SAFE FIRE
Between runs there is one place the rot has not reached: the Nexus, where ten souls keep the fire lit. The smith who remembers the old sigils. The gravekeeper who carves your stone. The crier who has never once shouted good news. These are the people you are dying for.

▸ CHAPTER III · THE DEAD DO NOT RISE HERE
You do not build a hero.
You build a lineage.
There are no lobbies. There are no respawns. When a Fordsworn falls in the dark, that character is gone — the gear, the levels, the name. Death is not a setback here. Death is the content.
Every fall is marked. The gravekeeper carves a stone, and the stones grow grander with the deeds behind them — a scratched marker for the hero who died in the Proving Halls, a monument for the one who fell three crowns deep. Each carries an epitaph. Each remembers a run that ended for a reason.
So the account does not chase a single unkillable champion. It grows a line — hero after hero, each sworn anew at dawn, each walking a little further than the last before the land takes them. The lineage is the story. Every hero is just a chapter, and every chapter ends.
What death takes · what it leaves
- THE HEROGone. Gear, levels, name — all of it, for good.
- THE STONEA tombstone that grows grander the deeper they fell.
- THE EPITAPHA line the realm writes for a run that meant something.
- THE OATHSworn again at the next dawn, by the next of the line.
▸ CHAPTER IV · THIRTY-ONE DOORS DOWN
The road only goes down.
The realm reshapes itself every time you ride out — no two runs walk the same ground — but the descent beneath it never changes: thirty-one shared dungeons, ringing inward from the safe lowland rim to the Scar at the core. No matchmaking, no lobby. Just the portal, the rooms, the boss at the bottom — and whoever swore the oath and walked the door beside you. What you find in a door is what you carry back out, or what you leave in it forever.
THE LOWLANDS · THE PROVING HALLS
Vhessa, the Coilrot Queen
Where the road begins and the beacons still burn. The Proving Halls teach one lesson: the land is not empty. It is occupied.
THE DROWNED CROWN · THE SUNKEN CRYPT
Vael Ossvane, the Counting-King
Down past the coast, into the cities the sea took the night the kingdom died. The bells still toll underwater, and someone is still keeping the ledger.
THE BURNED CROWN · THE FALLEN CITADEL
The Post-Captain of Ashfallen
The fortress that never surrendered because no one told the garrison the war was lost. The walls rebuild themselves. The dead man commanding them will not stand down.
THE TOMB · TOMB OF THE FALLEN CROWNS
The Thrice-Crowned Dead
The bottom of the descent. Where the kings the realm burned are kept — and where the road you walked back finally runs out of floor.
Four of the thirty-one — the shape of the fall from the sunlit rim to the tomb. The map shifts; the descent holds.
▸ THE GREAT FOES
Every door ends in something that helped kill the kingdom.
The generals scattered rather than shattered, and each one dug into a wound of the realm and made it a throne. You do not out-damage the great foes — burn one to a phase threshold and its health locks while it turns the room into a survival puzzle. You outlive them. Here are the ones waiting at the bottom of the doors.

THE SCAR · REALM'S END
Vharn
The Inheritor
The Sundered King, Varokhaz, was broken at the Ford — not killed. In thirty years of ruin his power went looking for an heir, and found one wearing every crown you burned to reach him.

The beacons are lit.
Walk it back.
Six crowns fell. The road back is open, and every death along it is final. Swear the oath, take the first door on the rim — and do not stop until the Sundered Seat is empty.
