When Kudrek took the stolen throne of the Unfallen Bastion, the old commander's honor guard did not disband; they simply stopped asking whom they served. The Throne Sentinels hold the approach in parade order, armor fused to oath, saluting the usurper with the same dead precision they once gave their lord. They do not guard the king. They guard the throne. There is a difference, and it damned them.
