The Stinging Reef grows its own garrison, as the deeps do where a Sworn nests longest. Polyp Turrets are the reef's fixed sentries — anchored colonies fattened on thirty years of Ysmr's keeping, blooming from the drowned masonry of Vael Anore's outer walls. They cannot pursue and do not need to; the Tidewarden's waters bring everything to them eventually, and stagnant water is never in a hurry.
