The starving Marches prayed for a harvest god, and the Sugared Lie answered in the shape they begged. The gummy hulks are the surplus of that answer — sweetness pooled past reason and stood upright, lumbering through the confection halls with arms open wide. They mean the embrace kindly, in whatever way the Lie means anything. Those they catch are found preserved, smiling, and glazed.
