Not everything the burning years made was grand. The Ember Imp is a mote of the great razing that refused to gutter out — a fist-sized spite of coal and grin that survived four crowns' worth of ashfall by hiding in hearths. It gnaws charcoal, hoards tinder, and follows travelers for miles hoping, patiently, that something of theirs will catch.
