Four of the six crowns burned, and courts do not simply stop. Crown Wraiths are the residue of dead royal households — chamberlains, heralds, minor cousins — still performing precedence in halls that no longer stand. Each wears a smear of light where its circlet was. They cannot say which crown they served; like the Forgotten Crown-King, they only recall that they were owed kneeling, and are not receiving it.
