The mountain-folk of old Kierstein carved fathers into the high passes — great stone elders set to watch the roads and bless the crossing. The blight seeped up through their footings, and now the Cragfather Golems have come down from their plinths to end the crossings they once blessed. They still move with a patriarch's slow certainty, and strike with a patriarch's disappointment.
