When the Cinderwood burned in the King's wars, the stags did not flee — they were the wood's pride, and pride stayed. Now the Cinder Stag charges the ash-rides crowned in antlers of live coal, re-lighting its forest one collision at a time. Charcoal-burners leave the first cut of every cord as tribute. The stag takes it, and burns it anyway.
