Bargrave's wreckers were sailors once, before the Wreck-Reeve taught them that a false beacon pays better than an honest catch. Now they swagger through Wreckers' Hollow in salt-stiff finery stripped from the drowned, dueling over cargo no market will ever buy. Each still keeps a lantern trimmed and lit — old habit, from the nights they lured whole crews onto the rocks.
