Bargrave the Wreck-Reeve pays his crews in salvage, and the Cutthroats of Wreckers' Hollow earn every soaked coin. Once they were honest sailors of the coast; now they light false beacons and strip the ships those lies drown. Each carries a pistol pried from a dead man's hand, and each swears — quietly, to no one — that the Tidewarden takes only the drowned, not them.
