On the Revelwrack Shore the survivors' wake never ends, because the first dancer to stand still hears Ysmr's bell. The Shore-Mask Prowlers are those who stopped anyway. They wear the festival masks still, stalking the tideline in stolen revel-silk, dragging strangers into the dance — not from malice, but because the music is easier to bear when someone new is screaming in time.
