THE RESONANT GEODE

The Resonant Geode once sang every waystar beacon alight; now it sings to a note that no longer exists, and the Shardglass Prowlers are that broken song grown legs. They circle the crystal galleries on facets sharp as grief, chiming softly, hunting anything whose heartbeat is off-key. The Mendicants say each one carries a splinter of the beacon-hymn, worn wrong.
