Ludd Grimtide stows every wreck the sea takes, crews included, and the Salt-Drowned Locker wants tending. The prowlers were sailors once — quick-handed, light-footed men who circled a deck all watch. They circle still, threading the stacked hulls of the Locker, guarding cargo manifests thirty years overdue. Drowning taught them patience. The stowage taught them that nothing, and no one, is ever written off.
